Whānau Tahi Ltd. (the Company) was established in 2011 to develop and bring to market the Whānau Tahi Navigator technology, built by its parent, Te Whānau O Waipareira Trust. Complementing the software is Whānau Tahi’s unique logic methodology that operationalises outcomes-based practice and measures its social value and return on investment.
The relationship with Waipareira critically ensured that the Navigator technology was informed, incubated and developed with real Domain knowledge in the area of community health and social services to Whānau. At its core, Whānau Tahi’s vision is to build a community where Whānau can flourish and achieve their dreams and aspirations. Drawing on over 35 years’ experience, Waipareira built the Whānau-centric software application to support its Whānau, caseworkers, management, and stakeholders to achieve better and aspirational outcomes for Māori.
Waipareira is an Urban Māori Authority that was established in 1984 and continues to evolve itself to meet the needs of the West Auckland community. Over time it has developed a large portfolio of services in the justice, social, education and health sectors and today employs over 200 people. Waipareira is a “thought leader” in the delivery of its services nationally and is respected as a leading voice for better outcomes for Whānau. The core values that underpin Waipareira’s services have been developed in consultation with its whānau, including its kaumatua rōpū, Board and kaimahi.
In August 2015, the Company added Whānau Tahi Connected Care to its product offering, a solution that provides the ability for Whānau to include in their Whānau Plans, support from clinicians and professionals within and across hospital, Pharmacies and other health related services. In a very unique way, Whānau Tahi enables and empowers Whānau, Caseworkers and Clinicians to work together in one Whānau Plan.
