Whanau Tahi is hosting a networking soiree with snapshot presentations from International Integrated Care guru Dr Nick Goodwin, CEO International Foundation for Integrated Care, and Diana Phone Clinical Lead Pharmacist at Ko Awatea and winner of the Professional Service of the Year award, the Innovations award and the overall Supreme award at this year’s 2017 NZ Pharmacy Awards.

Presenter Biographies:

International Dr Nick Goodwin

Dr Nick Goodwin, is Co-founder and CEO of the International Foundation for Integrated Care (IFIC), a not-for-profit membership-based foundation dedicated to improving the science, knowledge and application of integrate care across the world (www.integratedcarefoundation.org). IFIC is working with GPNZ to organize the World Congress on Integrated Care in Wellington in November this year.

Nick is a social scientist, academic and policy analyst with a specialist interest in investigating the organisation and management of primary, community and integrated care. He is also Editor-in-Chief of its scientific periodical, The International Journal of Integrated Care (www.ijic.org).

Nick also works as a Senior Associate at The King’s Fund and previously led its programme of research and analysis for improving and integrating care to older people and those with long-term conditions (LTCs).

Nick’s current portfolio of work includes UK, US and European-based case-study research examining the development and impact of integrated care on people with complex and long-term health problems. Nick continues to work with the UK government to support its policies on integrated care, supports on-going commitments to the application of integrated care within the European Union and is working with the World Health Organisation in building a Global Strategy to develop person-centred and integrated care.

New Zealand Diana Phone

Diana Phone is a pharmacist by background who divides her work life between Waimauku Village Pharmacy and as Clinical Lead at Ko Awatea which is embedded in Counties Manukau Health and focussed on the transformation of health services to create more meaningful outcomes for systems and consumers: koawatea.co.nz

Diana is passionate about Innovation and Improvement Science and in working collaboratively with other health professionals to provide good quality, patient centred care. One of Diana’s recent highlights was winning the Professional Service of the Year award, the Innovations award and the overall Supreme award at the 2017 NZ Pharmacy Awards.
