Sharing Digital Health at the 2026 Medtech Explorer Showcase

Last week, the team at Whānau Tahi teamed up with The Cause Collective for the Medtech Explorer Showcase at AUT South Campus, to demonstrate our digital health devices to the attending students, community members and various health professionals.

It was a great opportunity to see what devices are reshaping how Aotearoa’s health and well-being sector deliver care.  Together with The Cause Collective, we demonstrated Coala, Faceheart, and MedWand paired with The Cause Collective's Care Hub, giving attendees real-time assessments, showing how this technology brings comprehensive diagnostics to remote and community-based models of care.

Alongside demonstrations, our team made valuable connections with attendees, envisioning a world where practice is driven by innovative technologies.

Our own Daymon Nin gave a presentation to attendees on our vision for whānau wellbeing, the challenges faced by Māori and Pasifika peoples in equity and access to healthcare, and the innovations Whānau Tahi is introducing to help transform the way healthcare is providing, including using modern remote devices such as MedWand, Coala, and Faceheart. He also challenged student listeners to become part of the transformation: “you are the generation that will change and improve care, especially for Māori and Pasifika – our people”

Ngā mihi nui to Medtech-iQ Aotearoa and AUT South Campus for organising and hosting, it was a real privilege to be a part of this event.

Whānau Tahi look forward to more events like this and connecting with the people who keep the cogs of our health and well-being sector churning.
