  • Yes, you can continue to use Whānau Tahi Navigator after 1 July 2025, without interruption or change. Your current licensing and support agreements with Whānau Tahi do not require any changes.

  • Changes in commissioning structures have no direct impact on Whānau Tahi. Whānau Tahi is an independent company and was not/is not a party to Whānau Ora commissioning contracts.

  • Yes, Whānau Tahi will deliver complete reporting solutions that comply with the requirements set out by the new commissioning agencies, Rangitāmiro (Region 1) and Te Rūnanga o Toa Rangatira (Region 2). This will be done as and when the agencies finalise their reporting requirements.

Status as of 18 June 2025: We have held discussions with both commissioning agencies. They have both confirmed (a) that they are happy for providers to continue using Whānau Tahi Navigator - there is no need to change, and (b) they are working on their reporting requirements and will keep us updated so we can build reporting support into our product.  Whānau Tahi has started work on portions of the reporting that have been shared with us in draft form. When completed, there will be an update that we can deploy to you that lets you produce push-button reporting that meets commissioning agency requirements.

  • Whānau Tahi takes great pains to preserve your data sovereignty rights. Our solutions use Microsoft services which offer support for NZ Government GCIO Risk Assessment for Public Cloud Services. We use the NZ Azure Datacentre for all available services. Whānau Tahi itself is ISO 27001 certified. We exceed best practices for digital security, including 24x7 security monitoring. Whānau Tahi will never make your data available in any form to an individual or organisation without your written authority to so (including to commissioning agencies or government). Whānau Tahi's shareholder and directors have no access to our customers' data at any time.

  • No, Whānau Tahi will not submit your data to the government's Integrated Data Infrastructure (IDI). We understand concerns surrounding the submission of individual identifiable data to the IDI. We will provide capability for you to do so, as part of commissioning agency compliance, but will vest controls with you over what you choose to make available to the IDI.

  • Yes, you will need to get updated to the current version, so you are ready to receive the whānau ora commissioning reporting. You also have the option of reducing or eliminating management of your Whānau Tahi system by changing to the managed platform.

  • In this case there are three options available. We have special transition offers to assist with this.

    Option 1: Maintain Status Quo

Under this option, the lead provider continues to hold the Whānau Tahi licenses and pay for them. Other providers who share the system agree to continue doing so. You make your own arrangements for sharing licensing costs.

Option 2: Separate and Migrate to Managed Platform

With this option, each provider receives their own Whānau Tahi environment, with their own data. Whānau Tahi will take care of the data transfer and set up providers on their own managed platform, managed by Whānau Tahi. As a special transition offer, Whānau Tahi will do this for no up-front cost; the provider pays for managed platform licenses. Please contact Whānau Tahi for a specific transition offer and proposal.

Option 3: Green fields start on Managed Platform

Under this option you make a clean start on a new system deployed by Whānau Tahi, giving you the option to start with a 'clean' data set effective 1 July 2025. There is a special transition offers for this scenario. Please contact Whānau Tahi for an offer and proposal.

These are the options that cover most scenarios. If you have special requirements, we are happy to discuss these with you to tailor a solution that meets your needs.

This sets you up with Whānau Ora service and reporting out of the box, plus, our commitment to ensure we remain compliant as needs/requirements from TPK and commissioning agency change; while at the same time providing you a flexible Customer Relationship / Case Management platform that can support delivery of other contracted services you provide whānau.

  • The managed platform is the same Navigator System but simplifies support and compliance. It eliminates the need for you to maintain users, monitor logs, manage Microsoft licensing, keep track of space, data connections, and other system administration functions. We manage those for you as part of the managed platform service and securely host your system in a cloud environment managed by Whānau Tahi. You retain full control of your data and can still run other contracts in the system. To learn more, we can arrange a call or visit to detail this further.

  • Yes, there have been many improvements making the product more user friendly and easier to learn. These have all been the result of user feedback and testing. Some recent improvements have included:

    • Single click activities

    • Dynamic Assessments (major update allowing you to very easily create new assessment tools without having to learn customisation tools).

    • Improved out-of-the-box reporting

    • Printable forms

    • Continuous case notes

  • Whānau Tahi Limited is a registered company. Our shareholder is Te Whānau o Waipareira Trust. We operate independently and have our own board of directors, management, and staff.
