Harnessing Data: Transforming Insights into Social Impac
Day 2 at Investing in Impact Conference.
We’re proud to share that Daymon Nin – Head of Strategy at Whānau Tahi will be speaking today at the Investing in Impact Conference on Day 2 at 2:15 PM.
🎙️ Panel: “Harnessing Data: Transforming Insights into Social Impact”
🧠 Session Focus: Integrating data-driven approaches into decision-making to foster social innovation.
We were reminded that data is more than numbers—it’s a reflection of people, whakapapa, and potential. Data is a taonga, and we are the kaitiaki of this taonga—responsible for ensuring it is protected, respected, and used to uplift our communities.
The panel conversation brought together bold thinkers working at the intersection of strategy, community outcomes, and system innovation. From whānau-centred digital design to kaupapa Māori evaluation, each speaker shared powerful examples of how data can be used not just to inform, but to transform.
We explored how digital systems can be designed for whānau—not institutions—and how insights must lead to action that honours lived experience. The kōrero was rich with challenge and inspiration: how do we build trust, protect mana, and ensure that data serves those it represents?
This wasn’t just a technical session—it was a call to lead with courage, embed equity into every decision, and use data as a tool for real-world impact.
Ngā mihi to the incredible panellists, organisers, and especially Social Value Aotearoa for creating space for these vital conversations. Grateful to be part of a movement that’s reimagining what’s possible when we centre people, place, and purpose.
