Reflections from Day 2 at DHF25: Kaupapa-led Tech with Purpose

Big whakaaro. Big kaupapa.

Day 2 at the Digital Health Festival 2025 brought together innovators, disruptors, and leaders from across the digital health landscape. For us at Whānau Tahi, it was an opportunity not just to showcase what we’ve built but to stand firm in the why behind it.

Below, you’ll see a few snapshots from a day filled with meaningful kōrero, powerful panels, and shared purpose. Our platforms stood proudly alongside other Aotearoa-grown solutions, reinforcing that when we centre whānau and kaupapa Māori in design, the outcomes are not only better they’re transformative.

Our Head of Sales and Business Development, Ryan Sione, captured the heart of the day:

“Day 2 of DHF 2025 – a chance to again showcase the great tech coming from Aotearoa and to reflect on what comes next.

As a speaker on the Ancestral Insights to AI panel, Matua Daymon Nin, along with Lee Timutimu and Kyle Forde, reminded us that keeping whānau and people at the centre of what we're trying to achieve is key — that AI should build and foster stronger human connection, and never replace it.

We had kōrero with Leigh Donoghue and reflected on the great change impacting the NZ health sector, and we’re always hopeful that the amazing homegrown tech can help enable better outcomes for all.

It’s been a great couple of days, and special mention and mihi to New Zealand Trade and Enterprise – Hamish Campbell, Ava Williams, and Robert M. – for hosting us all.

Mauri Ora.”

Where to Next?

The Festival may be over, but the kaupapa carries on. We’ve returned with renewed focus and inspiration to continue building platforms that are mana-enhancing, practical, and grounded in te ao Māori.

Whether it’s through Navigator, MedWand, Coala, or our whānau-centred approach to integrated care, our mission remains the same: meaningful, connected outcomes for those who need it most.
